Background
Ms. Femia has over 20 years' experience in various aspects of accounting, including construction contract accounting administration to Sureties for over 10 years. This experience includes analysis of books and records, contract status, approved and pending change orders; reconciliation of payment requisitions; implementation of accounting controls to maintain joint-control checking accounts; preparation and monitoring of subcontractor and vendor payments, including partial and final releases; analysis of payment bond claims; development of cost-to-complete schedules; preparation of cash-flow analysis; and assisting in project re-lets.
Experience
Assisted in claim preparation and litigation support against the New York City Department of Housing and Development on a multi-housing $4 million renovation project. Services included extensive evaluation of payment requisitions, change orders, contract payments and project delays.
Construction contract accounting in assisting Surety in completing its performance and payment bond obligations, utilizing Quick Books software, on fifteen projects in Puerto Rico. Services included: accounting; preparing recommendations regarding financial assistance; analysis of payment bond claims; assistance in the development of costs-to-complete schedule; assistance in project re-lets, project completion and cash-flow analyses.
Construction contract accounting, utilizing Quicken software, for general contract work on an aircraft hangar and jet fuel systems storage facility at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Services included re-procurement of work, monitoring, negotiations and close-out. Project included fuel facility, fuel service piping (double pipe leak detection), storage tanks, pumps and administration buildings, and related electrical, mechanical, site work and underground utility systems.
Construction contract accounting, utilizing Quick Books software, for the completion of a $24.9 million, water pollution control plant. Services included preparation of progress payments to owner, analysis of subcontractor and supplier claims; and project closeout.
Construction contract accounting, utilizing Quick Books software, for $19.8 million, electrical subcontract involving construction of a hospital building. Services included: analysis of financial status of project; development of a cost-to-complete estimate; analysis of contractor's claims and change orders; monitoring progress of work; analysis of Payment Bond Claims and litigation support.
